Mountain Boubín

Wooden mountain with hight 1362 m above sea level. On its southern slope lies the Boubín primeval forest (Boubínský prales), a protected area since 1858. The spruce and pine trees are 300-400 years old. A Nature Trail goes through the forest. Boubín Lake was laid out in 1836 to facilitate rafting of timber to the glasshouse in Lenora. Legends relate that a big treasure is hidden inside the hill, guarded by a nine-headed dragon.
